*SPOILER ALERT*

Game description and play instructions:

This narrative game is created using Game Maker. As the instruction shown in the title screen, players can press “SPACE” to start the game, use “WASD” to move, and use “SPACE” to interact with other characters in the game or enter another room.

When a player first enters the game, he or she should see an NPC with a text box above his head. After the player has talked with the NPC, they will learn the game goal, which is to find their own cat within one night, which implies that they are in a dream. A cat will then start walking towards the player and stop at a distance. If the player talks with the cat, the cat will let the player know that he is not the player's cat, but he wants to follow the player from a distance. When the player talks to other cats, they will let the player know that they are not the player's cat. If the player goes to the shop with less than five fish, the casher cat will tell the player that humans are not welcomed in the cat shop. However, it is allowed if the player wants to trade. If the player enters the shop with five fish collected in the region, the casher cat will give one feather to the player and take away all the fish the player has collected. After the trading, if the player talks to the cat that follows them again, the cat will give one fish to the player. The game has the same ending whether or not the player has fish or the feather: when the player enters the CAT building and walks towards the grey cat, the cat will run to the player and say goodbye. However, if the player has fish or the feather, the player's cat will say something differently. The game ends after the player hugs the cat with two additional computer graphics: the player has received a message from mom, and another graphic showing the text telling the player that their cat has passed last night.

Self-Evaluation:

This game aims to tell a story as a narrative game, which in my opinion succeeds to do so. It is more like a story made to comfort myself as I haven’t seen my cat in more than a year, and he is 12 years old now. I spent a lot of time working on the animation and the background music, and I think they work better than expected.

Other:

I couldn't get the audio working for the title screen, and other ones work depend totally on luck. If anyone seeing this has any idea about how to solve this issue, plz help ; - ;
